Edward Davis
April 24, 1943 – October 1, 2013
It is with great sadness that we announce that Ed has taken his last flight to glory. He died in the loving arms of his wife on October 1, 2013. Predeceased by his mother Dorothy and son Lance. Left to mourn: Jean, his wife of 42 years, son Chad Williams, sister Dawn Olson, nephew Danny Chamblin, niece Brooke Olson, god-son Luke Hylands, god-daughter Stevie Hoesel.
Born in Auburn, California in 1943. He served his compulsory in the US Navy and moved with Jean to Salt Spring Island in 1972. While Jean taught school, Ed pursued his passion for flying and became a well known float plane pilot and realtor. He enjoyed aerial photography, loved fishing and sleeping outdoors. Covering the BC Coast and Yukon, Ed left a favourable impression wherever he landed. Often seen driving around town with is dog Tux in his classic ‘54 Mercury Convertible – a car he kept from age 16.
A generous, adventurous soul who loved life so much. He will be sorely missed by his family and many, many friends.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Reznick and the dedicated staff at Lady Minto Hospital and to the doctors and staff at the BC Cancer Clinic in Victoria.
A ‘Celebration of Life’ will be held on October 12, 2013 at Meaden Hall (Legion), 120 Blain Road at 1:00 pm. A time to share our memories of this very special warm-hearted man.
