It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of dear friend Reg Ashwell, on Saturday September 25, 2010 at Ladysmith Lodge on 4th, Ladysmith, BC. Reg was born July 12, 1921 in Prince Rupert BC. He was predeceased by his parents Iris and Stoll Ashwell, his brother Douglas and good friend Jim Kay. Reg is survived by his brother Geoff (Iris). Reg was an avid collector of West Coast Native and contemporary art. His knowledge of art was evident in the publishing of books and manuscripts. He owned and operated “Pegasus”, his gallery on Salt Spring Island, BC for many years. Reg will be missed by many friends who enjoyed being part of his life. Appreciation for the compassionate care given Reg while he lived there is extended to the nurses and staff at the Lodge on 4th in Ladysmith. As requested there will be no service. A celebration of Reggie’s life will be held later.
