ROBERT HENRY KIRKPATRICK
May 7th, 1930 to Oct. 4th, 2016
Robert Henry Kirkpatrick passed peacefully on October 4th, 2016 surrounded by family. Bob was born in Calgary, Alberta on May 7, 1930 and was pre deceased by his wife of 61 years, Mary Frances Kirkpatrick.
Bob was a Flight Officer on the CF100 Aircraft in the RCAF where he met Mary, the love of his life.
After many summers spent on Salt Spring Island, Bob and Mary retired on the island they loved and called Southey Point their home.
Bob served the community he loved for many years with volunteer work through Rotary and the Chamber of Commerce as well as bringing Rainbow Rentals to the island.
Family was everything to Bob. He is survived by his five children, Joanne (Larry), Russ (Linda), Mike (Patti), Don (Linda) and HB (Lisa). and 11 grandchildren, Kirk, Shaun, Alex, Jill, Jamie, Maggie, Meagan, Tanner, Emilee, Lauren and Riley.
Bob was a kind and gentle man who never had a harsh word to say about anyone. He was incredibly patient and considerate and always put everyone else’s needs before his own.
The family would like to extend a huge thank you to all the staff at Braehaven and Lady Minto Hospital for the love and care that Bob received.
Dad, you will always be in our thoughts, our prayers and our hearts. We love you so much and will miss you forever.

Celebration of Life to be held Saturday, December 17th, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion, Salt Spring Island.
