Dr. Ian Chisholm

Feb. 17, 1932 – Sept. 25, 2013

It is with regret that the family of Dr. Ian Chisholm announce his passing on Wednesday September 25th, 2013.

Ian was born on February 17th 1932 at Glasgow, Scotland.

He is survived by his wife Margot, sons: Fergus (Elaine)of Saskatoon, Allister of Edmonton, Rod (Linda) of Banff, and grandchildren Ryan, Rob, Melinda, Evan, Robert, Scott and William.

Ian had an outstanding career in medicine, practicing and teaching Ophthalmology in Glasgow, Scotland. In 1975 he took a position at the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon. Ian and Margot retired to Salt Spring Island in 1992 and have enjoyed many good years in the island community.

Grateful thanks to Dr. Reznick and the staff at the Lady Minto Hospital for providing care and assistance. Thank you also to the kindness of the neighbours, friends and community who have been so supportive and helpful .

A memorial service will be held at the Salt Spring United Church on Saturday October 5th at 2 p.m.

Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in lieu of flowers.
