Arny was born to Mae and Joe Wallis in North Vancouver where he spent a happy boyhood. He then left to serve in Belgium and Holland with the Canadian Armed Forced during WW II.

He is survived by his loving wife Jean who he married in July 1953 in North Vancouver where they settled together to raise their children, Lesley (Mike Stacey) of Salt Spring Island, Colleen Wallis of Victoria and Joe (Cindy Wallis) of Kamloops.

Arny was the proud grandpa to 10 grandchildren. Sadly pre-deceased by Rob Stacey in 2004. Wallis of Fort St. John; Michael Wallis of Kamloops and Stephanie Wallis of Fort St. John.

He had 9 great-grandchildren, Alexis, Ireland and Dylan W., Magnolia B,. Ryder and Sadie M., Kai and Leo L. & Jack W.

Arny was best known for his beautiful smile and sweet easy-going nature. He worked hard and proudly at many varied jobs over the years. He loved to take his family on road trips to explore B.C. on his time off and also spent many fun summer holidays here on Salt Spring Island at the cabin on Hedger Road that he helped build in the 1940s with his dad and his older brother Doug, pre-deceased in September 2012. His adored big sister Marjorie Martin has been living on the same property since the late 1970s. Arny and Jean moved to Salt Spring Island just down the road from her in 1979.

The family would like to thank all the fine folks that work and volunteer at Greenwoods for their compassionate care of Arny these past 2 1/2 years. A special hug for the sweet hospice lady that sang him goodbye. Family memorial this summer.
