Letter - Perfect dose

It was indeed heart-warming to see so many family and friends overflowing the Lady Minto Extended Care Unit lounge on Friday, Aug. 26.

The event was a musical theatre performance with the flair of a Broadway production. Charles Dickens’ well-known Oliver Twist was the theme.

Director Sue Newman, along with choreographer Zoe Bentley, presented a cast of eight young players — Lucia Dixon, Annie Bateman, Ella Baker, Niko Reveley, Jonah Baker, Pierre Peters, Ruby Egger-Lipsett and Maya Neufeld-Boucher.

Sue’s edited version was presented with a spirited delivery encompassing the social issues of the early 19th century as well as the art and craft of the performance.

The children captured the hearts of the audience, giving the perfect dose of medicine to the residents.

To quote the opening line of this performance, “May we be truly thankful.”

MARGARET MACKENZIE,

LADY MINTO HOSPITAL

AUXILIARY,

COORDINATOR, ECU
