Dance favourites Delhi 2 Dublin back on the rock for March 3 gig
Delhi 2 Dublin bring their energetic mashup of bhangra, Celtic, dub, reggae and electronica with global rhythms back to Salt Spring on Saturday, March 3 for another dance party.
Following their last sell-out show at Fulford Hall in October 2010, they return for an encore performance of their unique blend of non-stop world-beat energy.
“Delhi 2 Dublin has created their own niche at the intersection of gritty hip hop and electronic beats, traditional Indian influences and that raw Celtic sound that packs a punch — all of which make you want to get up and dance,” states an Evolving Music review.
As the band’s star continues to rise internationally, their shows on Salt Spring have evolved from first playing at Moby’s to a sold-out show at Beaver Point Hall, to their last sold-out show at Fulford Hall.
Recently they have been writing songs for their new album which they will start recording in April when they get back from performing at the Spirit Festival in Bali. Salt Springers will get a sneak peak of their new material.
The show will be opened by DJ Joshua James of the Full Moon Medicine Collective.
James has brought his music to appreciative crowds from Shambhala to the Oracle Gatherings, from Diversity Music festivals to Tribal Harmonics Intention Gatherings. Organizers are encouraging people to get their tickets ahead of time as many disappointed people were turned away at the door at the last two Delhi 2 Dublin shows.
Tickets are $25 in advance and $28 at the door.
Advance tickets are currently on sale at Morningside Organic Bakery, Cafe & Bookstore, Salt Spring Books and B-Side Clothing.
Doors open at 8 p.m. James starts at 8 p.m., with the headliners on at 9:30.
