Founded in 1960, the Driftwood serves the islands of Salt Spring, Galiano, Mayne, Pender and Saturna, an area noted for its pleasant climate, beautiful scenery and interesting people.
A paid-circulation weekly newspaper, the Driftwood strives every week to present an accurate and interesting reflection of community affairs and a forum for public opinion. Market surveys have consistently shown high readership levels as islanders tend to take an avid interest in the affairs of the community. It is published every Wednesday.
Related publications include Gulf Islands Real Estate, a monthly magazine published for the local real estate industry, The Gulf Islander, an annual visitors' guide, and Aqua, a quarterly lifestyle publication.
